Subscription Busing Registration for 2021-2022

Reminder: Students who do not qualify for mandated transportation, i.e., grades K-8 who live less than 2 miles from school or grades 9-12 who live less than 2.5 miles from school, can apply for subscription busing. You can determine whether you qualify by emailing the transportation department at busing@millburn.org or thomas.lauton@millburn.org

 

Past participation does not guarantee a seat. You will be scheduled for busing on a first-come/first-serve basis, once seats are not available you will be notified and be put onto the waitlist. Please be aware that for safety reasons only items that fit easily onto a student's lap will be permitted onto the bus. All large items must be transported by car.  

 

Fees: If you are interested in subscription busing beginning in September, the fee for the 2021/2022 school year will be $775.00 per student with a family cap at $1550 and is non-refundable.

Online Registration: All applications must be submitted online through CommunityPass. If you are interested in having transportation provided on a fee basis, please use the directions found at www.Millburn.org/apps/pages/Subscription_Busing  to submit your application by the deadline of Saturday, June 12, 2021. All registrants will be placed on a waitlist created by CommunityPass for payment l

 

Payment: NO PAYMENT IS DUE AT THIS TIME.

 

Eventual Payment: Payments will be scheduled for July/August once further guidance is received from the state. You may pay by credit card online, or you may pay by check after you have submitted the application online. If you are paying by check it should be made payable to “Millburn Township Board of Education” and a confirmation email will be sent when the check is received. Credit card payments (with a $5 convenience fee) will be accepted until the designated due date to be determined. Application requests received after June 12, 2021 will be put on a waitlist and may not be scheduled for busing before September 20, 2021, if seats are still available on the appropriate bus.

 

Waivers: If you are applying for a fee waiver, you must fill out the attached sheet and get all required documentation to the Business Office before June 12, 2021. The waiver of the $775/$1550 student charge is available for families who meet the qualifying income level according to the guidelines set by the State of New Jersey for free and reduced lunch. Waiver applications may be found on the district website stated above. Bus Route information and bus passes will be mailed to families in August.
